During this time, they were also setting manufactured homes on one off residential lot’s and selling them as spec houses far below the median home pricing. This proved to be a good business and it was providing housing at much more affordable price than site‐built homes. This success and the ability to provide housing below market rate is why they transitioned to be more focused on manufactured housing.
Having a talented team of employees who worked hard every day from the office to the field and recognizing that they were likely not ever going to be able to purchase a million‐dollar home got them motivated. Starting a manufactured home retail sales company with a business partner and becoming a Palm Harbor dealer, building a 217 Lot manufactured home community with another group of partners and the continuation of selling and setting homes at every price point.
